Northwest Austin Veterinary Center offers overnight boarding for both cats and dogs. With multiple kennel sizes and boarding areas throughout the hospital, we will find the perfect spot for your pet depending on their individual needs.
We provide high-quality Science Diet food and will administer your pet’s medications and/or specific diet at no additional cost. You are welcome to bring toys, blankets, or other items to make your pet’s stay more comfortable.
We will make sure your pet will receive the attention, pampering and care they deserve during their time here.
Each morning, the dogs venture outside for fresh air before breakfast. While they are outside, their kennels are cleaned, disinfected, and stocked with fresh linens.
We have a large, shaded and fenced backyard for daily walks and exercising of your pet while boarding. Your pet will receive room service and walks 3 times daily by our experienced Animal Caretakers.
Your dog will also have supervision throughout their stay with us – both during walks and while they rest. In the evening, dinner is served, and then we have one last walk before bedtime.
Your cat will be fed according to your specifications and their requirements, to ensure their routine is the same as it is at home.
We provide daily one-on-one interaction with kitties (if they want it!) including play, snuggles, and pets. Litter boxes are checked, cleaned and disinfected periodically throughout the day.
Additionally, we refresh linens and clean your kitty's room daily. Our cat boarding area is separated from the dog area to ensure your kitty feels relaxed and safe while they stay with us.
Your pet will be supervised by our expert veterinarians and nurses, who will administer medications and watch over them closely. Any required medications will be administered to your pet as close as possible to the schedule they are used to at home.
Northwest Austin Veterinary Center offers baths and nail trims to all boarding pets, as well as by drop-off appointment. We keep a large range of shampoos, dips, and topical medications on hand to address any skin-related issues your pet may be experiencing or just to keep your pet looking and smelling great.
We're serious animal lovers, and our whole team enjoys giving our boarders all the attention and care they deserve while they're staying with us.

We've got everything your pet needs for a fun, recuperative and safe stay, including the following accommodations and amenities:
During weekdays, our kennel staff are onsite during our regular hours from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
On weekends, they arrive around 7:00 AM for morning walks, meals and play with our boarders. After morning activities, they give our boarders time to rest and return at 2:00 PM for afternoon monitored play, evening meals and evening walks.
Depending on the number of pets we have staying with us, our kennel staff will stay until 5:00 or 6:00 PM on weekends to make sure every animal gets the love and attention they need before settling down for the night.
Northwest Austin Veterinary Center offers boarding services every day of the year, including major holidays. Due to the size and capacity of our facility, we are rarely unable to satisfy all boarding requests. That said, we always recommend and invite you to schedule your reservation early so that we can assure your pet has an appropriately sized and comfortable space to board with us. This is especially important over major holidays. If we have the space, we are happy to accept multiple members of your fur family.
Boarding fees vary based on the duration of the stay, the size of the pet, and special medical requirements. That said, our pricing is affordable and competitive, and we welcome you to contact us for a quote.
All pets must be dropped off or picked up during regular office hours. Reservations are recommended, especially for holidays and summer weekends. During these times, we recommend that you call 2-3 weeks in advance to increase the chance that a spot will be available.
Food: We provide food for pets staying with us. However, please feel free to bring enough of your pet's regular food to last the duration of the stay.
Medication: If your pet takes any medication, bring it along for our staff to administer.
Toys: If your pet has a special toy or two, bring them along. We also keep a large stock of bedding and toys on hand should you not want to risk the loss or damage of any special items.
We will be glad to administer your pet's medications while they are with us.
Yes, feel free to call us during your pet's stay for updates. If there is a problem, we will contact you via the emergency contact information you provide.
Each animal is different. To prepare for your pet's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.
Call us to book, and discuss details about your pet and your boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to coordinate your booking.
Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.
We want to be absolutely sure that we are a good fit for your pet before an extended stay. The trial stay consists of a full day of daycare where we can take the time to assess your pet's temperament and make sure they fit in with the pack.
On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few steps you can take to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.
Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful and confident during the separation.
For pets that are not on a special diet, we provide high-quality Science Diet pet food.
